# GTA VI in real Miami: the sign, the murals, the blimp, the stadiums and the banners

Every real-world GTA VI and Vice City promotion in Miami we can verify, with dates, status and sources: the Kaseya Center sign, the Wynwood Walls murals, the HEAT night, Hard Rock Stadium, downtown banners, the beach and the blimp.

**The short answer.** GTA VI’s campaign has moved into the real city. A “Welcome to Vice City” sign has sat on the Kaseya Center roof since 22 September 2026. On 13 October the Wynwood Walls unveiled ten new murals carrying GTA VI in-game artwork, with free entry for Miami-Dade residents presented by Rockstar. The Miami HEAT play as Vice City on 18 November, the night before launch. GTA VI branding appeared at a Dolphins home game at Hard Rock Stadium. Downtown Miami approved temporary banners from 15 October to 31 December, Miami Beach is negotiating branded beach chairs, and a Goodyear airship in a Vice City livery was reported flying south toward Florida on 12 October. This page tracks each one, how sure we are, and where it came from.

## How we label each item

- **Confirmed** means the organiser published it.
- **Approved** means a public body voted or signed for it, which is not the same as it being up.
- **Up** means news footage or photos show it in place.
- **Reported** means a news outlet described it and nobody involved has confirmed it.
- **In negotiation** means talks are reported and nothing is signed.

## The deal behind the sign

Miami-Dade County owns the arena. Its mayor signed an agreement worth almost $1 million with Rockstar under her authority to approve contracts below $1 million without a commission vote, [WLRN, 18 September 2026](https://www.wlrn.org/light/government-politics/2026-09-18/miami-dade-welcome-to-vice-city-gta-kaseya) reported. The money is meant for a plot of county land behind the Kaseya Center that has long been promised for community use, such as a park. The figure usually quoted, $975,000, comes from the Miami Herald, as [Forbes, 24 September 2026](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianmazique/2026/09/24/rockstar-just-spent-nearly-1-million-to-turn-miami-into-vice-city/) relayed it. [The Miamian, 9 October 2026](https://www.themiamian.net/p/miami-dade-vice-city-campaign-in-peril) reported that the agreement runs seven months, about $139,000 a month, and that Rockstar also paid for production and installation and made a separate contribution to the Heat-affiliated company that runs the arena.

The letters lie on the roof. They were built to be read from the air, which is why the coverage talks about passengers flying into Miami International. A seven-month term from September points to spring 2027, and we will add a published end date when there is one.

## Wynwood: the murals that are also in the game

On 13 October 2026 Rockstar and the Wynwood Walls announced a partnership. The museum’s own site lists “Free for Locals” entry presented by Rockstar Games and a pre-sale collection, “VI × Wynwood Walls: The Art of Vice City,” built from original in-game artwork by 15 artists ([Wynwood Walls, read 13 October 2026](https://thewynwoodwalls.com/)). [Complex, 13 October 2026](https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/jaelaniturnerwilliams/rockstar-games-wynwood-walls-partnership) reported ten new murals that can also be seen in GTA VI gameplay, by artists including DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet and Lady AIKO, and free entry for Miami-Dade residents through 2028 with a photo ID showing a county address.

This is the clearest real-to-digital crossover of the whole campaign. The same wall exists on a Wynwood street and inside the game, painted by the same artist. For anyone filming Miami culture, that is a comparison shot with no guesswork in it: the real mural now, the in-game version from 19 November.

## The blimp

Goodyear’s Wingfoot Three, tail number N3A, was photographed in a GTA VI livery carrying the Vice City logo and reported flying south from Ohio on 12 October 2026 ([GTAVice.net, 12 October 2026](https://www.gtavice.net/news/gta-6-vice-city-goodyear-blimp-takes-flight)). Goodyear keeps a winter base in Pompano Beach, and local outlet [TAPinto Pompano Beach](https://www.tapinto.net/towns/pompano-beach/sections/arts-and-entertainment/articles/grand-theft-airship-pompano-s-goodyear-base-will-host-vice-city-blimp-for-video-game-release) reported that the base would host the Vice City airship. Rockstar had not commented, and no schedule for flights over Miami had been published when we checked.

The airship has a history in the series too: a blimp was the first aircraft players could fly in a GTA game, and it borrowed the look of the real Goodyear ships. That is a detail fans noticed, not a stated reason for the campaign.

## Where the money goes

The deals put Rockstar money into public projects. The county’s sign payment is meant for community land behind the arena ([WLRN, 18 September 2026](https://www.wlrn.org/light/government-politics/2026-09-18/miami-dade-welcome-to-vice-city-gta-kaseya)), and the City of Miami’s banner permits help fund a trail in Overtown ([CBS Miami, 22 September 2026](https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/gta-6-miami-kaseya-center-welcome-to-vice-city-marketing/)). The Wynwood partnership pays for free museum entry for county residents through 2028 ([Complex, 13 October 2026](https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/jaelaniturnerwilliams/rockstar-games-wynwood-walls-partnership)).

## Film it: one shot for each

- **Wynwood.** Each new mural straight on, full frame, in flat daylight, with the artist credited in your caption. Keep the frame so you can match it against the in-game wall after 19 November. A mural is the artist’s work: credit it on every post, and get the artist’s permission before a mural appears in anything paid.
- **The sign.** Take the window seat on a flight into Miami International, or a rooftop you are allowed onto. From the street you get the building and its light, not the letters.
- **The HEAT night.** The arena at blue hour, the walk up and your own reaction. [The four-shot plan](https://gtalarp.com/guides/a-night-in-vice-city) covers it.
- **The banners.** Street level, with a street sign or a landmark in frame so the place is obvious, and the date in your caption. That is what makes a sighting worth something.
- **The beach.** If the chairs and umbrellas appear, film the beach, not the strangers on it.
- **The blimp.** Keep the horizon or a landmark in frame so the scale reads. Never fly a drone near it, and check the FAA’s B4UFLY app before flying one anywhere downtown.
- **The stadium.** Only from a game you attend, with your own photos, inside the stadium’s camera rules.

## Why GTALARP tracks this

GTALARP covers the place where real Miami and the game meet. Most of that is comparison: a street, a car or a building that looks like something on screen. This campaign runs the other way. The city that inspired Vice City is wearing the name in public, on its arena, its beaches and its sky. That is Miami’s digital counterpart showing up in the real world, and we would rather keep a dated record of it than repeat a rumour.

Seen one we missed, or a banner going up? Send it with the date and the place through the [submission form](https://gtalarp.com/#submit), and we will add it once we can check it. A Miami business planning its own launch content can [send a brief](https://gtalarp.com/partners).

## Questions, answered

### Did Rockstar pay for the Kaseya Center sign?

WLRN reported a county agreement with Rockstar worth almost $1 million, and the Miami Herald’s figure is $975,000. The county owns the arena, and the money is meant for land behind it.

### Will the Vice City blimp fly over Miami?

Nobody has announced a schedule. The airship was reported flying south on 12 October, toward Goodyear’s Pompano Beach base. We will add a dated sighting when there is one.

### When do the downtown banners go up?

The City of Miami allowed them from 15 October to 31 December 2026, each with its own permit. We had not seen one in place on 13 October.

### Is Miami International becoming Vice City Airport?

The mayor’s office is negotiating Vice City installations at the airport, PortMiami and Metromover stations, and the county commission takes the talks up on 20 October 2026. Nothing was signed when we checked.

### Can I see the GTA VI murals for free?

Miami-Dade residents can, through 2028, with a photo ID showing a county address, under the “Free for Locals” entry presented by Rockstar. Everyone else pays the museum’s normal admission. Check the Wynwood Walls site for hours.
